WIP Wednesday 28 September 2016

Well, this week went better than I thought. I was determined to give poor teddy sweater some love this weekend. He had been languishing here for a couple of weeks,

so on the weekend I pulled him out and got to here.

Collar and shoulder seams done with sleeves pinned on and ready for sewing. And I thought that would be it. BUT, I managed to make it to Knitting Group at the Seniors' Centre yesterday morning and TA DA, I have a finish!

Just need to give it to Cynthia and Orin will be toasty warm on cool days.

Then I found a couple of hours to spent on Halloween Bunny who went from here

to here.

The upper photo has the better fabric colour. So, all in all, I'm pleased with my week.

Late IHSW and WIP Wednesday 21 September 2016

Well, IHSW did not go as planned (why I plan at all I wonder some days) but I did get in a few hours so the masked bunny went from

to this.

Looking a little bit more like Halloween.

But poor teddy is languishing exactly where I left him last IHSW.

I've got to get the lead out - days are getting cooler and Orin, or more properly Orin's grandmother, is going to want to have this on hand just in case.

Happy Birthday Jo!

Jo at Serendipitous Stitching is hosting the blog hop of all blog hops to celebrate this very special day in her life. She has assigned each of the participants a year in her life and asked us to write something about our life in that year and post a picture of a piece of our stitching we think she would like.

I've been given this year and this is what Jo has to say about herself.

2016 - Jo is 50!  Welcome to the present day.  This year Jo has decided to attempt her largest Blog Hop yet with a blogger for almost every year of her life (we skipped the boring years!).  Jo's stitching targets have focused on her GG projects with great success this year.  She also set herself a new challenge - The Longest Day WIPathon, the chance to work on as many projects as possible in one day.  Her final achievement for this year will be to tick off a goal which has featured in her sidebar since she started this blog - to stitch a Chatelaine!

I turned 66 this year, so Jo is still a young'un as far as I'm concerned! This year I joined the local Seniors' Centre and have greatly enlarged my circle of friends as well as being introduced - or reintroduced - to the world of cards (crib, whist, canasta, bridge and a few more), crafts, darts, floor curling, carpet bowling, jigsaw puzzles and, of course, bingo! Plus amazing opportunities to volunteer for some excellent causes.

So, keep coming Jo - life is not going to get boring and you may (still?) be asking yourself how you're going to fit everything into a day.

Choosing a picture has been difficult - Jo's stitching likes cover a WIDE variety of themes and styles - but I finally settled on two, for personal reasons.

This one because it was my first on anything except white Aida (and it's cute)

and this one because it's been my biggest project to date and I love the colours and the designs in each square.

Be sure to check out Jo's blog and see what happened in all the other years that make up her 50.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JO!

It's IHSW!

It's International Hermit and Stitch Weekend! If you want a really good excuse to curl up and stitch the weekend away, wander over to Random Ramblings, sign up and join the rest of us. My poor teddy sweater has had no love since August IHSW, so I'm hoping to fix that this weekend. Here is where I left the poor thing.

And can anyone find me a gently used brain with a few decades of life left in it, because mine no longer works properly. In this post I mentioned that I was starting a new cross stitch but wouldn't be able to post pictures because it was a gift. Well, DUH, it is a gift, but for a Facebook friend, not a blog friend. So how does a brain confuse those two things? Anyway, this is the project and hopefully I will be able to find at least a couple of hours for it.

I blame Jo at Serendipitous Stitching for this. I was never all that interested in Halloween charts, then I started seeing all the nifty designs she kept stitching and posting in her blog and I got sucked in. So this is my first venture to the dark side! LOL  Okay, he's not that dark, but it's a slippery slope, right?

WIP Wednesday 7 September 2016

And we're here again! This will be a very short post this week. Santa/elf was here last week

and I'm pleased to say "IT'S A FINISH"!

Such sexy leggings!

I have started a new project, but it's a gift so there will be no sneak peaks I'm afraid.

And poor teddy has had no love again. I was hoping to work on him over the long weekend but there was not one moment to craft. Must get more organised, must get more organised, must get . . . . .
