And This Is What It Became

Back on the 15th of May I posted this photo

with this comment

"Walking downtown this morning, I passed a lot that is just a large hole in the ground and noticed the business next to it was trying to make the little strip of ground between the hole and the sidewalk much nicer to look at. There are more things at the "green and growing" stage, but these are the first blooms."

Well, I went passed this same spot this morning and look what the space has become.

You don't even notice the empty lot behind it!

WIP Wednesday 26 August 2015

Well, apart from my usual moan about not having enough stitching time, I have made progress on Santa.

Here's where he was at the end of IHSW.

And here is where I left him last night. Had to frog part of his mustache as I had miscounted, but now I can concentrate on his face and finishing his beard.

And I bet you didn't know that grocery deliveries came with fur toppers!

And Yoda was trying to make designs with the strings as I unpacked the boxes.

Still house hunting - have an appointment to see a place tomorrow afternoon.

IHSW Report

Well, I got some stitching done this weekend. I will be SO glad when I find a new place to live so I quit losing stitching time! Here's where I was at the beginning of the weekend

And here I was as of last night.

Fingers are crossed for a finish this week.

IHSW Part 2

Almost forgot there's another IHSW weekend coming up! Hoping to get a few more stitches in my ornament, although I'm working on Saturday so that will cut into my stitching time. Want to join us? Click here. Wondering what I'm talking about, check out Random Ramblings and find out what's what.

WIP Wednesday 19 August 2015

Made some progress on my Ornament SAL Santa. I was here last Wednesday

and this is where I finished last night.

It's definitely starting to look a bit more like Mr. Claus.

Like to know more about the SAL? Check us out here.

IHSW

Not a huge amount of stitching time, but my ornament went from here

to here.

That will be the letter A in the corner when the BS goes in and the green blob is Santa's glove.

It's TUSAL Time

Another new moon and time to show off our thread ends or ORTs as we call them. Why are we doing this? Check out DaffyCat's blog and see.

My ORTs this month.

Most of the threads came from this

and a few from this.

To date, my ORT box looks like this.

And that's it until the next new moon!

WIP Wednesday 12 August 2015 and IHSW Part 1

IHSW?? Part 1?? What am I talking about? If you don't know what IHSW is, click here and check it out. If you're wondering why Part 1, let me explain. IHSW is supposed to take place on the 3rd FULL weekend (Friday to Sunday). This is the 3rd weekend of August, but only the 2nd full one, so Joyce our host over at Random Ramblings has decided we will have 2 weekends this month. Yay for more stitching time! Want to join us? Click here and participate in the fun.

It's been a good week on the stitching front. Last week I was here.

I got the two pieces finished

and made into the keyring.

It was mailed to my partner in the smalls exchange yesterday. A little late, but she lives here in B.C so it should get to her quite quickly.

And then I started on my Santa ornament for an Christmas ornie SAL that I've joined, hosted by Kaye at Kitten Stitching. If you want to check us out, click here.

I chose my ornie from this book,

one of a series that Leisure Arts published all about Christmas. Then I gathered my floss and fabric

and last night I got started. I got in this much stitching before toddling off to bed.

Almost a complete border.

WIP Wednesday 5 August 2015

Well, there wasn't a huge amount of stitching done, but my small got all of it. This was where I was last week.

This is where I stopped last night.

These will be the two sides of a keyring when I'm done.

Oh, and here is a skill testing question. Where are my pattern, fabric and floss?

Did you need three guesses?
