Missing In Action

My home computer is having problems and I can't open Blogspot and a few other sites, so this is just a quick entry while I'm at work. Hopefully I can take the computer in for repair this week and then get back to more regular postings.

I have been doing some stitching but even my stitching bug seems to be in need of repair. Maybe it's the February blahs?

Profile Picture

Since it's the first of the month, I've changed my profile picture again. These are my paternal grandparents. The picture is either their engagement photo or their first formal photo after they were married, which happened in August of 1913. The family concensus is that it was engagement, but since none of them were there at the time, nobody is 100% sure. LOL

And The First IHSW of 2013 Is In The Books

Well, it's been a pretty good weekend. I worked on 3 different projects.

Friday, I worked on Bluebell Kitten. Thursday night it looked like this:

Friday night it looked like this:

Then on Saturday I decided to give some love to my oldest UFO. Sorry, but I forgot to take a picture just before I started, so I'll have to use my 1 January photo as the start one.

And when I put it down Saturday night, I was here.

Then on Sunday I worked on my HAED SAL piece. Started here:

And finished here:

I didn't realize working over 1 on 25 count was going to be so slow. Or maybe I'm just not used to it yet. And I apologize - these are not the best pictures.

So, all in all a productive weekend. Can't wait to go blog hopping and see what all of you worked on.

Theme-A-Licious - January Jardin

It's almost 11:30 p.m. on the 15th, so I better get this posted! This is my first Theme-A-Licious and I tried to stick to the theme, sort of. LOL This is as far as I got today.

The chart is called "Bluebell Kitten" and looks like this.

I'll only be able to work on it for this week, so it'll be interesting to see how much I can do.

And I Almost Forgot . . . . .

It's the first IHSW of 2013 this weekend. And what is IHSW you ask? It's when stitchers all over the world turn the 3rd weekend of the month into pure stitching time. And then share their accomplishments with the other stitchers. And did you just say "How do I get in on this?"? It's easy. Just wander over to Random Ramblings and sign up. Then start something new or work on a WIP or work on an UFO or work on all of them. Doesn't matter, just put some stitches into something!

Stitching Problems!

Some days it is just very difficult to stitch! The red in the bottom left hand corner is my left arm. I was trying to get some more stitches in a Heaven and Earth Design called A Helping Hand. Let's just say it took longer than originally planned. LOL

And yes, he really is asleep!

ORT Box

Thank you everyone for the lovely comments about my ORT box. We have a business in Rupert called Third Avenue. They serve specialty coffees - and homemade cookies - Italian meats, oils, pastas and sauces and they have a gift section, mostly small items. I was given a gift certificate for the store and the box caught my eye. Then, when I was looking for an ORT container that was attractive enough that I could leave it out, the box was perfect.

TUSAL 2013

Well, it's January 11 today and time for my first TUSAL post. First, this is the box I will be saving my monthly orts in.

And these are my orts so far. Isn't this pitiful?

I do have a large jar that I will be putting each month's orts in over the year, but there is no point in posting a picture this month. You can't even see the orts at the bottom of it. Hopefully the next few months will be much better.

The results are back from the Cancer Agency and everything is BENIGN!!!! Rejoicing, rejoicing. Oh, does that lift a huge weight. Looking forward to some very good nights' sleep now.

And So a New Year Starts

Well, I actually managed to stay awake long enough to see 2013 in. Was a quiet evening here, just me, the TV and some munchies.

I don't remember whose blog said something about taking your year's worth of ORTs and putting them into a clear ornament, but I thought it was a great idea. So, I did it.

And here's what my 2012 stitching looked like in the bits and pieces left over. I just need to mark the year on it, because I plan on doing more.

In 2012 I tried to get my Oldest UFO done. I didn't make it, but I did make progress. Here is what it looked like 2 January 2012

and here's what it looks like 1 January 2013.

I think there is hope for this thing yet.
